Making March Memorable

March has been wonderful!! A few of my faves from this month include the following:

1.BLOODY MARYS: No... not the hangover remedy... I actually used them to cause the hangovers this month!! I have no idea why but I am on a bloody mary kick!

2. THE SUN: Living in Houston, Texas my entire life has made me love the sunny days in March because its only 70-80 degrees outside and soon temps will reach over 100. During this time you can find me pool side catchin some sun!!

3. CONTINENTAL AIRLINES: I heart Continental and this month I booked my ticket to NYC to visit my bf Jackie! Im SO excited for vacation! I leave April 30th!

4. MARCH BIRTHDAYS: My birthday is the entire month of November! Its been that way since I was little. I think its why I have developed such a love for birthdays. I have 3 bestfriends who have birthdays that fall in March. I love the celebrating, the gift giving and most of all the cake!!
5. DARQUE TAN: Im not a huge fan of fake-baking but Im also not of fan of blinding people with my pasty skin so when summer begins to near Kristen takes her white self tanning to get a base tan! Darque Tan helps me achieve this!

6. GEORGE STRAIT: George Strait is AMAZING! My most fond childhood memories are filled with George Strait, Lake Somerville and my family. Lately I have been listening to George at work and boy does he make my days pass a little easier!

7. CUTE SUNDRESSES: Summer weather means pulling out my favorite sundresses and gives an excuse to purchase more. 9 times out 0f 10 in the summer I will be found in a sundress and cute sandals!
8. THE KEURIG COFFEE MAKER: My roomate got a new coffee maker for her birthday and Im lucky enough to get to use it!! Its awesome it makes one perfect cup of coffee at a time! I use to not be a big coffee drinker but after I discovered good coffee I love it! 9. Germ-X: People are so dirty! Wash your hands people!! I have seen mothers change their child diapers in restrooms and walk out!!! Walk OUT... seriously after youve just been up close and personal with your child's poop! I understand it's your child and you love them but I dont even want my own shit on me much less another humans!! WASH YOUR HANDS!!! Ive been a germaphobe since living with an OCD (serious OCD...not self-proclaimed) man so Germ-X can always be found on my desk and anti-bacterial in my purse but during Rodeo I found myself at an all time high my germ-fighting due to all the people I saw in restrooms not washing their hands!

10. THE HOUSTON RODEO: Saving the last for the BEST!! The Houston Rodeo is one of my favorite times of the year! I adore it and wait all year for the 3 glorious weeks of what is known for Rodeo!! We went A LOT this year and had an AMAZING time!!

Stephanie picked a date and will be getting married next April!! She left me the most adorable invitation to be here bridesmaid this weekend!! It was so cute and Im so excited for this wedding! Our friends are all pretty wild so Im sure this reception is going to be a blast!

Im so EXCITED for Summer to be here!! Im going to the lakehouse Saturday for my father's birthday bash! Im taking Tug and Lilly of course and am hoping to get some pics of us in the Bluebonnets!! Yes Im a dork like that!! Ill try and post them next week!

A Little Reading to Soothe the Soul

I love Barnes & Noble! It's one of those places smart people spend their time being studious!

SO my co-workers and I will drop in to find something good to read from time to time. Tuesday I picked up 90 Minutes In Heaven. Ive heard A LOT of great things about it so I want to see what all the hype's about. And I love motivational books! I'm all for people falling a little more in love with God! So Ill let y'all know how it turns out! (I'm guessing great, because I'm already captivated and I'm only on page 27!)

Everyone needs a little trash reading so I picked up Chasing Harry Winston. It's by the same author as The Devil Wears Prada so I'm sure I'll love it!

Life Updates:

• I'm Over Mr. Google-able! I'm happy to say that I'm sure we will remain friends. He's just not my ONE. Sometimes two people just grow in different directions and I'm afraid the distance and my lack of love for constant tennis and fitness proved to be too much. Tomorrow is his bday so I sent him a card.
  
• My criteria for blog following is about to go out the window. I'm adding any and everyone I wish to blog stalk! I heart blogs and it's way more fun if you've met the people!
  
• I ran into an old friend last week that I haven't seen in years and boy has time changed my opinion of him! He was always really good looking but now he's an actual adult! No Kristen you can NOT have a crush on him! Ill tell you all more later! ...Yes Im sure I sound like a teenager gossiping about a crush... but I don't care it's fun and Im SO single! :)

I have to work now!

Back to the City!

After a good year and half attempt of living in the suburbs Ive finally reached my breaking point! I adore my little "city" where I grew up and am sure I will migrate back out HWY290 later in life but I can't take it anymore... I'm moving back in the loop as soon as this lease is up (June).

With the roomie's agreement at an all time high we are looking for places to live! There are a few perks to our current location (close to work, CHEAP rent for a nice apt, relaxed apt management) but I miss being anywhere in town in a matter of 10 minutes. I miss all my great friends who remained inside the loop after graduation and most of all I miss going to a restaurant or bar on a Wednesday night and being surrounded by adults in their 20s/30s instead of families or old harry men out together for a night cap....YES a night cap at 7:30 because you already know they're home and in bed by 9.

SO WE R MOVING!!!

This is TOO bitter sweet! Bitter because we currently live on the 3rd floor and have NO elevator...MOVING is going to be a real NIGHTMARE! I am so sorry to the poor person who gets roped into helping us! I promise beer and dinner if its YOU!! and bitter because we have had some GREAT times in our apt. Lauren & I have grown so much and have become our adult selves since moving here. Bitter because we will miss our besties from out here... mostly Rachel, Reghina & Tiff being 5 minutes away. BUT it will be OH SO SWEET to be in a new place. New apt/house to decorate and make our home! Sweet because we will be living with other adults our age!!! And the sweetest because I LOVE everything in the loop!

So wish us the best of luck on our new home search! We are already loving HAR.COM! and every apt website out there. Friday I we both have off so we are going to go look at new places!

This Weedkend's Festivities!

So this weekend we celebrated my roomie and best friend's 24th birthday!! We went out on Washington to The Drinkery and to Eight. It was a BLAST! Here are a few pictures from Friday night.

Sunday Lauren and I decided to go to lunch and have a movie day. We went to see Our Family Wedding simply because it was the only show playing at the time we wanted to go that we had any interest in seeing. It was a good movie, but a complete re-make of Guess Who with Ashton Kutcher. Same plot completely but very funny and entertaining.

I also spent some time this weekend playing with the pups!!! I feel bad for not playing with them as much lately as I use to so we had a mini photo shoot & some serious play time Sunday night!

Uhhh... Why am I STALKING People I Dont Know???

I have a confession.

I am officially a blog stalker!

I don't know how this happened or even when it happened but I cant help it. I LOVE reading blogs! And the majority of my favorites are women I HAVE NEVER MET! Creeper I KNOW! I love coming to work and checking all the blogs I am "following" to see who has updated theirs. And the weirdest part of all of this is the "mommy" blogs are my favorite! The idea of having a child at this point in my life completely repulses me. Maybe in ten years but NOW = NEVER! So why on earth do I love hearing about all these freaking babies?

And I found that the majority of my favorites are of chicks in Georgia. These Georgia girls are pretty awesome! Girls in Georgia have babies at really young... or my faves do! Some of them are younger than me! Way to get that husband and that baby by 24! You go girl! Definitely NOT my ideal life but I like reading about theirs!!! I think that if I lived in Georgia Id even actually be their friends!

I also found I have a criteria for becoming a blog "follower". If I know the person then I have to have spoken with them in the last year to follow them. There are plenty of JV alum that I have come across but refuse to "Follow" because I don't want to be that crazy chick who hasn't seen them in 5 years and is wanting to read about their lives. i swear I'm not a weirdo, I just like to know how everyone's doing! So I check their pages but no "following". For the unknown people Ill only follow them if they have over 150 followers cause what the chance they'll notice some random chick reading their blog... and if they do I'm probably not the only random so I don't feel like such a CREEPER!

Okay Ive confessed...

If I'm following you and you're reading this... I like your blog! Update more often so I have something to ready at work!

Oh Charlize!

I LOVE THE OSCARS!!!

I love seeing what movies are nominated, who wins and most importantly what all my favorites are wearing! So you can imagine my excitment for the Academy Awards!

Anyone who knows me knows I have a tiny obsession with Charlize Theron. I think she is by far the most beautiful woman in the whole world!!

CHARLIZE.... why oh why did you wear that dress???

As my friend Jackie would say, "Charlize... we know where your breasts are located!" I still think shes beautiful but seriously Charlize we may need to rethink your stylist! But on a positive note I love the color and it looks beautiful on you!

I also LOVE Sex & the City so SJP is always an eyecatcher! You cant become famous for a fashion show and NOT expect to be judged on your personal fasion for the rest of your life. This alone puts SJP in the spotlight on any red carpet! and THIS IS WHAT SHE WORE.... and whats with the fly-aways?? Youre hairstylist needs to join Charlize's clothing stylist in the unemployment line!

Though these favorites had a little fashion slip... I absolutely adored a few others!

Sandra... First off you should know the entire world is in LOVE with you!! I loved the classic hair down, red lips, gorgeous detailed dress!! and on top of the HOT look you WON!! This seriously made my night! You deserved it!!

Im NOT A Hannah Montana fan but I will give it to Miley she looked very cute! I loved the dress and thought it was a perfect for her! Hair....uhhhhh- not so much but it can slide!

and Last but not least Zoe Saldana... You captured my heart in Centerstage and the rest of the world's in Avatar and you are stunning!! I love the lavender! I thought this dress was SO pretty!

GOALS... Time to Get On IT!!!

WHEW!!!! I have been SO busy this week!! Its only Tuesday and Ive already done more at work than I have done in the last week!

There are some really important GOALS I must accomplish in the near future so Ive got to get started or Im never going to accomplish them!

1. GRADUATE!

I really need to choose a Graduate Program. Ive changed my mind at least 1000 times as to what I want to go to school for and where at! I really need to at least narrow down the options and take the GMAT and GRE to see where I am going to apply. I REALLY want to begin a program this year. I think its too late for the August start so hopefully I can find one I like so I can begin in January!

2. WORK OUT!

I want to develop a regular work off routine. I do workout now but Im pretty inconsistent and I usually slack off when Mr. Googleable is in town. I know its important to develop some sort of fitness routine in your 20s or Ill be screwed in later life but I just have so many other things Id rather do!!! I AM COMMITING!!! Its my goal to be FIT!! and to look AMAZING this swimsuit season!

3. SAVE!

Ever since I developed this "live for today" attitude I have been shopping like a mad woman!! I think Ive gotten it out of my system! Now I need to stack my savings back to where I want it to be!! That graduate school isnt FREE and DEBT is NOT a word in my vocabualry! Hopefully the parentals will contribute to the "help Kristen get a Masters" fund!!
